Living Room Additions

Now that my new sofa has made itself comfortable, I notice I need a few more items to accompany it. Below is a little wish list of some things that would really compliment the sofa. Once again, budget was not an issue, since this is wishful thinking. Sigh.

French Armoire from European Antiques

Othello Iron and Mirror Cocktail Table from Ateriors

Stag Side Tables from Bliss Studios

Antique Italian Chandeleir from Tara Shaw Antiques

I am sure I could go on for days with things I want or need, but this is a start. Drapes, and oushak rug, and even a new piece of artwork over my mantel would be a few more items on my list. I will save those for another day.

It finally came!!!!!

So do not shoot me for the terrible Blackberry photos. I am not going to lie, at first I wasn't sure I loved it, or even liked it. It is a big dramatic sofa. Then I thought about it, and I am a big, dramatic person!! It is perfect for me!! Jimmy Dean made an appearance in the photo too. The colors are way off, but you get the general idea. It makes me even more ready to do more stuff!! Sorry Paul!!

This is a better shot of the color. It is pattern Bristol Metal from Lee Industries. It is a rich grey-brown. It also has the most awesome sheen to it!!
Lolly is a big fan. She is the exact same color!! I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing...

Needs Some Major Work!

Ok, I am having a hard time writing this post. Since my new sofa is on the way, and I promised pictures when it arrives, this is the before. I am very critical of my own "design work" at my house. I wish I had an unlimited budget and all the free time to make it exactly what I envision. Having said that, I do love our home. It has character and a warmth about it. So be patient and I will post the progress of our sweet house.

Since this photo a lot has changed. First and foremost I added some greenery. It makes a HUGE difference. I am thinking about doing a post on interior plants. What do you guys think? I need something that is hard to kill. I did not get my mother's green thumb!

Drapes are a must. They are next on my wish list. Luckily my husband agrees, so we will see how that conversation goes...advice is always welcome. Until next time.

Our New Digs...Some Before and Afters

Here it is!  Our new little home!  Below are some pics of our dining room before and after.  We painted the walls Baby Fawn, Benjamin Moore.  I will post more details later.  I know it still needs a ton of work, but we are getting there!

Chandelier

So I ordered this chandelier for the new house yesterday.  Did I mention it is the second one I have owned.  I must really love this chandelier.  We put it in our first house, but it was part of the closing...sad.  Tear.  All is good, because in six weeks I will have it again!  Tomorrow is my last day at Villa Dauphine.  I have been there six years, and have learned so much.  It is going to be bitter sweet to leave.

The House!

So we close on our house next week!  I am so excited.  Although I am nervous about moving to a new town, I am really ready to be settled.  I know I will have a lot to post about the new house.  We love it, and cannot wait to have a fresh start!  Promise pics to come soon!  I will finally get to unpack my camera cord.  Hope y'alls week is going well!

A Little Wish List From Wisteria...

I love the high arms on this sofa.  I am drawn to slip covered sofas.  I think it may have something to do with the zoo that I let chill on every piece of furniture I own...
This would be perfect behind a sofa or against a wall as a serving piece.  Throw a pair of porcelain gourd lamps on top, fabulous!
I would like two of these, one beside each club chair in front of the fireplace.  Did I mention I need two club chairs too?
I love the idea of using two of these for a little cocktail table.  I am obsessed with mirror!  It reflects so much light, and can really open up a space.
These would look great in my dining room...or in my bedroom.  I cannot decide!  I just know I need them.
I feel like am doing to many pairs, but I would love a pair of these for my coffee tables, or on top of the built-in bookshelves.  Yay!  I have built-in bookshelves!  I have been wanting some for soooo long!  I packed my cord that inputs my pictures on the computer, but I cannot wait to post the pictures of my house!  I love it!  Have a great weekend!

Bitter Sweet....

So I know y'all are probably wondering where I've been?! Well, a lot has been going on in my crazy life! Work has been super busy. I cannot wait to post the pics of the job we are about to be wrapping up! It turned out beautiful! Yay! But, in bitter sweet news, I think our house has sold! I have total mixed emotions about it. I loved our little midtown bungalow, but it is time to move on. I guess it all works out, I was getting tired of my decor anyways! So in homage to our first house, here are some pics...again! I promise to post more this week!

Bittersweet...

This is my home. It is a work in progress, but I love it. A cute midtown bungalow, with tons of charm. Too bad it is up for sale now. If you know anyone that wants a 3/2 in Mobile, AL, let me know!

Of course with any design job I am constantly changing my mind, wanting to do something new! If I had the money, my house would change weekly! I love my zebra chairs, but now I want cream linen skirt slipcovers. I am also thinking I want to spice up my color choices. Maybe cream walls, with turquoise silk drapes? What do you think? I will say the chandelier is one of my most fav material items! I will never let it go with the house!

My bedroom was so cozy! Since this picture was taken, I have repainted. It is now a soft cream, with a soft white trim. I love it! I also got new bedding, white linen with a European style monogram....so romantic! I want to do accents in coral. Embroidered pillows or maybe just a rose bowl of fresh flowers in the pinky-orange tones? That HUGE piece above my bed is an old Victorian mantle I picked up at a local antique store. Isn't it fab! Although, I will say, I sometimes have nightmares about it crashing down on my head in the middle of the night...scary!

I love this server. It was a graduation gift from my dad and stepmother. I think it needs a bolder mirror above it though? I love, love, love my lamp. It was in the post from Friday. When I ordered it I thought it was gong to be much larger. It actually worked out for the best, it looks great in my foyer!

Sofa and Pillow Talk

I love my sofa, it took me three years to decide which one I was going to order! It is the Beecroft Sofa, by Rachel Ashwell, slipcovered in a light flax slubby linen. It is so basic and timeless, a quick change of pillows would totally change the look...like some of the pillows above. The pillows are from Ryan Studio, ryanstudio.biz, they have fab pillows!

These Louis XVI chairs are to die for as is...but that Schumacher fabric would look awesome too! If you haven't heard of 1st Dibs! Go to their website immediately. Antique dealers and stores from all over the country show their amazing inventory on one site. These are from Assemblege, in Chicago, IL. Actually they would look great as is, with a sofa in the Cheetah Velvet! Sassy!
