Chi Omega Love. Collect V

I was a Chi Omega at The University of Alabama. I have some of the best memories, and made some very dear friends while at Alabama. While looking through a random Facebook feed on my Blackberry, I stumbled across a new super chic and stylish blog. It just so happens to be the brain child of these five gorgeous ladies below, and they are some of the sweetest, most stylish girls I know. Their new blog Collect V, is a collaborative collection of fashion, interiors, and entertaining ideas. Be sure to check out their blog, you will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite kitchens...

I know a lot of people blog about this kitchen, but it is so great!! Anne Turner Carroll, an Auburn graduate, is the mastermind behind this renovation. I love the open work shelving, subway tile, antique brass hardware, and amazing pendant lights. It looks like a kitchen I would truly want to cook in!! It is not over the top, or too fussy. It is just right. What do you guys think?

I cam across a new furniture line yesterday that I love. Gabby Home is based in my home state of Alabama. They have chic antique reproductions, as well as, one of kind antique pieces. Exciting News!

So as usual I feel very badly for having not made a post in forever...but I have some exciting news!  Paul(my boyfriend) and  got engaged this past weekend!  It was perfect and I couldn't be happier!  We were at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL.  If you have never been, go immediately!  It is a little piece of heaven on earth.  Here I will show you!

Beautiful oak trees are all over the grounds.  It is truly amazing.

The beds are like sleeping in a giant marshmallow.  This was the exact room we stayed in...or at least they look identical!
This was our view from our balcony.  Mobile Bay never looked so good.

And last but not least the pool.  Tons of chairs, yummy daiquiris, and super friendly staff.  I would seriously live here if I could.  Enough about The Grand!  I am super busy, more than before!  I have kicked into full gear on the wedding planning, so do not be surprised if a few wedding post creep their way in.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Local Talent

I am a big fan of Mobile, Alabama, my hometown. It has history and a slow southern charm. It also has some fabulous local talent. I wanted to highlight three of Mobile's most fabulous artist. I have posted a few paintings of each, but their portfolios are endless. I have attached links to all of their websites. Enjoy! Art is personal and an invaluable aspect of decorating. No home is complete without art that speaks to the home owners. Art makes a space personal and is a great investment. Think long and hard about each purchase, it will be one you will not regret. Bitter Sweet....

So I know y'all are probably wondering where I've been?! Well, a lot has been going on in my crazy life! Work has been super busy. I cannot wait to post the pics of the job we are about to be wrapping up! It turned out beautiful! Yay! But, in bitter sweet news, I think our house has sold! I have total mixed emotions about it. I loved our little midtown bungalow, but it is time to move on. I guess it all works out, I was getting tired of my decor anyways! So in homage to our first house, here are some pics...again! I promise to post more this week!

Seth and Jane's House

So, Jane(Jane and her husband Seth happen to be close friends of mine, as well as, clients!)wanted me to wait to post pics of her house, but I'm too impatient! We still have some things we want to replace, and a few things to add too! This is just a sneak peek! If Seth had his way Jane and I could never shop/decorate together! I will keep new pics coming as we go!

Even with a baby on the way, don't be scared of white! That's what oxyclean is for people! The sofa, chair, and ottoman are all from Best Slipcover Company. They are super comfy and super stylish!

Jane had dried arrangements of hydrangeas done in her mercury glass vases, tres chic! Notice the polka dot dog bed, it is for a 3 lb yorkie named Heffner! Lil stink!

Phoebe Howard...I wonder how many posts I will do about you?

I just wanted to show you how great the F. Schumacher Chenonceau fabric looks done up in drapes. This is a pool house Phoebe did in Birmingham, AL. Home state shout out!



This one is a little fuzzy, but this is the aquamarine colorway of the Chenonceau fabric. I have this hanging on my inspiration board at my office. Oh my gosh I love it! This image is off of Phoebe Howard's new blog, mrshowardpersonalshopper.com. Such a great blog!

Design Love for Bobby McAlpine!

I am OBSESSED with Bobby McAlpine! His architecture and design is absolutely timeless. I love his rich use of colors, and texture. He is also meticulous about the interior details...ceilings, mouldings, floors, etc. This is my first post on Bobby, but definitely not my last!

Sweet Home....

I am feeling a little nostalgic tonight. I have grown up in Alabama my entire life. There is a quiet charm here that always seems to put me at ease. I decided to post two Alabama spreads tonight. The one above is in Mt. Brook, done by Betsy Brown. I never thought I was a lavender girl until I read this article. I love the touches of the different shades of purple. It seems really natural and effortless in her home.

Susan Ferrier did an amazing and chic job on this Montgomery townhouse. The edited use of color really makes for a striking and sophisticated look. I am not sure what most people think about Alabama design, but I see nothing "backwoods" about this spread from, House Beautiful.
