Romance with a Twist Bedroom

I love romantic bedrooms. I think a bedroom should be a haven for relaxation. I tend to gravitate towards softer colors and all white bedding. Here is a romantic inspired bedroom, with a few twists.

Providence Bedding from Matouk

Scroll Headboard from West Elm Upholstered in...

Fern Tree Turquoise and Ivory by Schumacher

Marigot 8-Light Chandelier via Circa Lighting

Cross Hatch Star Mirror from Mecox Gardens to go over...

Swedish Chest of Drawers from Chelsea Textiles

All on top of this Vintage Turkish Tulu from Carol Piper Rugs

Vintage Lucite Bedside Tables from Mecox Gardens

Topped with Chunky Classic Urns from Visual Comfort

I think it has a good mix of traditional with some fun, whimsical elements. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Feminine and Fun Home Office

I think it so important to have a space that makes you feel creative, serves a desired purpose, and looks beautiful. If I could design my own home office, I think it would look something like this...

Beautiful faux antique writing desk from Noir Furniture LA. It is feminine and timeless. It is a great start to base the design.
I have wanted a ghost chair for years. It will juxtapose the old world feel of the desk perfectly!
What can I say? Every woman needs a little pink in her life. Christopher Spitzmiller makes the most divine gourd lamps ever!! They of course cost more than most sofas, but this is my dream office, money is no object.
This is another item that has been on my wish list for years. Stark's Antelope rug is just too good. I would even use this in my future nursery, or living room.
I would love a pair of these for a cozy reading area adjacent from my desk area. I would cover them in a creamy velvet.
If I didn't use this for drapes, I would cover the above chairs in this China Seas fabric. Pink, pink, and more pink.
I threw this in because it is like an unexpected, fabulous accessory. I mean does it get much cooler than a crocodile stapler? I think not. That is all for today.

Love,
Amanda

My Next Home Inspiration...

I love this house! I especially love the living room. I am going to use it as inspiration for our next house. I have been wanting to do cream walls with turquoise or chartreuse drapes for a long time! Enjoy your weekends, I am off to Montgomery to go house hunting with my Bug!

So Pretty

So how awesome is this kitchen?! I love the mirrored cabinets so much, I might have to do that in my next house! The soft blue ceiling is so calming. Colored ceilings are great way to soften the feel of a room.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot...Pink!

I was looking at my toes this morning admiring my new polish...feeling hot hot hot, opi, and got inspired! Not to mention July's House Beautiful had an amazing spread centered around hot pink. I looked through some of my favorite images and was surprised how many of them were pink! I feel it is a misconception that pink has to be a girly color. When done the right way, pink is a rich, and dare I say masculine color! If you don't believe me check out the images below! I don't see any bows....

OMG! I love this designer! MMR Interiors!

I was checking out Erin's blog, Elements of Style, and saw the designs of Melissa Ruffy, MMR Interiors. A New Orleans designer to drool over! Her use of colors and ability to layer is unbelievable! She has an uncanny ability to make traditional southern design look cutting edge, but still looks timeless! How'd she do that! I pretty much posted every picture from her website! Here are some of my favorites.
I mean come on, what a fabulous room. I love the totally southern family portrait mixed with the Madeline Weinrib pillows, and bold patterns!

Perfection, gonna try and make my foyer look like this! I will try to post pics of my mini-makeover this weekend.

This room leads to my favorite room, the dining room! I have never been a cobalt blue kinda gal, but I think I am now!

Ok, so this is the dining room of my dreams! I looooove the cream walls with the bright chartreuse drapes! And don't even get me started on the animal print dining chairs! Mark my word, when we get our new house my dining room will look like this...sorta!

Toile in New Orleans never looked so good! I think I spy some Leontine linens in a few pics!

Ruthie Sommers Love!

Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately! I have been super busy at work, and trying to get my house to sell!  Our house looks fab, and Paul did an amazing re landscaping all day on Friday.  This is a post I have saved from Ruthie Sommers for House Beautiful.  I might have to have an inspired house post about this amazing beach escape!  It is fresh and fun, and I totally wish I was there right now!  Hope everyone had a great Monday!
