I am obsessed with Madeline Weinrib!

Since I mentioned Madeline Weinrib in my last post, I had to do a little blog post about her amazing line of pillows and rugs! She pretty much brought Ikat back! I dream about owning some of her pillows...especially the bolster at the bottom...$900.00 retail! Whoa, maybe in my next life!

Score!

Check out my new purchase! I love it! Thanks to Etsy my sofa will now have a little more sass! It was totally affordable! Madeline Weinrib...way out of my price range!

Bitter Sweet....

So I know y'all are probably wondering where I've been?! Well, a lot has been going on in my crazy life! Work has been super busy. I cannot wait to post the pics of the job we are about to be wrapping up! It turned out beautiful! Yay! But, in bitter sweet news, I think our house has sold! I have total mixed emotions about it. I loved our little midtown bungalow, but it is time to move on. I guess it all works out, I was getting tired of my decor anyways! So in homage to our first house, here are some pics...again! I promise to post more this week!

I'm Crazy About...

Decorative Boxes! I think these are my new favorite accessory for your home, or office for that matter. Not only are they crazy stylish, but they serve more than one purpose. I have posted a few of my favorites below.

The two photos above are from Plantation. I love agate box at the top, it would look beautiful in a bookcase, or on top of a white lacquer parson table. The bottom set are great too. I love green and could def use these on my chest in my foyer!

These two are from Global Views, and are faux malachite! The silver bamboo detail is very chic! Did I mention these can be used as jewelery boxes too!

The traditional boxes above are always a classic accessory for your home. Even though they are on the more traditional side, don't be afraid to place them on top of a Lucite cocktail table next to a stack of glossy coffee table books, and a chunk of brain coral...resin of course. They are perfect for storing ugly electronics. These two are from Maitland Smith, available at Villa Dauphine.

Other great options from Global Views. These are also available at Villa Dauphine.

And last, but not least, Jaime Young's Mother of Pearl boxes. I love these to death! I would love to have a set of these to go on top of my dresser to hide my "stuff".

Name Change

Hi Everyone! I guess you noticed the blog has a new name and address! I think my new title has a sophisticated ring to it. I hope everyone likes it, and the new green text. I thought the green would give me a FRESH start! Keep following, and I promise to have some great new posts soon!

OMG! I love this designer! MMR Interiors!

I was checking out Erin's blog, Elements of Style, and saw the designs of Melissa Ruffy, MMR Interiors. A New Orleans designer to drool over! Her use of colors and ability to layer is unbelievable! She has an uncanny ability to make traditional southern design look cutting edge, but still looks timeless! How'd she do that! I pretty much posted every picture from her website! Here are some of my favorites.
I mean come on, what a fabulous room. I love the totally southern family portrait mixed with the Madeline Weinrib pillows, and bold patterns!

Perfection, gonna try and make my foyer look like this! I will try to post pics of my mini-makeover this weekend.

This room leads to my favorite room, the dining room! I have never been a cobalt blue kinda gal, but I think I am now!

Ok, so this is the dining room of my dreams! I looooove the cream walls with the bright chartreuse drapes! And don't even get me started on the animal print dining chairs! Mark my word, when we get our new house my dining room will look like this...sorta!

Toile in New Orleans never looked so good! I think I spy some Leontine linens in a few pics!

Pop of Color in Pascagoula

Let me just my clients who inhabit this space are absolutely wonderful! They are so full of life and genuinely care and listen to what you have to say. So, having said that this room fits their personality perfectly. It is vibrant, colorful, and somehow is still completely comfortable.

It is so refreshing to have clients that are not afraid of color! Fuchsia and turquoise, I mean how awesome is it that her husband is such a trooper that he embraces the fuchsia with a smile.

I will post more pictures, as the job progresses. Oh, I can't wait til Friday! I might have another post today, if I find time!

Do It Yourself Decor

So this is a quick and inexpensive project I did for my dining room.  I ordered a set of antique egg prints off eBay...gotta love eBay!  I knew I wanted a thin gold frame, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on them.  That is where Al's 5 and 10 came in!  Got all 6 frames for $20!  Quick coat of antique gold spray paint, 6 custom cut museum mats from Hobby Lobby, and ta-da!  I am a terrible photographer!  Still trying to figure out my new camera!  The total cost for this little project was less than $100.  I am working on a Salvation Army mirror now!  I will try to remember to take pictures of the whole process this time!  Happy Monday!
